Job Description

The Senior Technical Writer provides support to read and analyze highly technical materials and to create presentations of that information. This may be specifications, drawings, user manuals, presentations, reports, or training documents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, math, or science + 8 relevant years
  • Provides technical writing and documentation support from concept and design to development and final review.

  • Supports the creation of documentation for a variety of work products, including technical reports, user guides, operations manuals, hardware descriptions, training material, Orders, Advisory Circulars, safety documentation, briefings, and other policy and guidance.

  • Applies concepts for technical writing regarding engineering drawings and documentation, maintenance drawings, operational procedures, hardware and software explanations, and consultations with subject matter experts to blend related information into a seamless product.

  • Works with developers to produce quality documentation and training materials.

  • Creates graphical images, flow charts, and diagrams for inclusion in documentation and presentations. Assists stakeholders in defining documentation requirements.

  • Assists in maintaining a current internal documentation library.

  • Experienced with version control software.

  • Familiarity with industry processes, development methodologies, and release cycles.

  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office software products.
