Job Description

The Junior Electronic Security Technician performs a variety of technical functions required in the installation of security equipment and systems. The Senior Electronic Security Technician is involved in installation, troubleshooting, wiring, and testing of electronic security equipment.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a full 2‑year curriculum in a technical institute, college, or university leading to an Associates degree. 
    • An industry recognized apprentice craft training program may be substituted for the formal education requirement.
  • Two years of experience in installation, troubleshooting, and wiring of security equipment is required.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical and electronic principles as they pertain to security systems and equipment installed at facilities.
  • Ability to understand and follow technical guidance such as circuitry and layouts.
  • Ability to perform routine installation of equipment (both hardware and software).
  • Ability to configure computers, communications devices and peripheral equipment.
  • Must be able to pass background check for access to secure facilities.
