Job Description

Crown is hiring an Electronics Systems Engineer, who is able to interview and work in Ontario, California, to be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Managing radio installation projects from start to finish to include the 5 project processes: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling and Closing.
  • Working with complex telecommunication equipment and facilities and associated broadcasting equipment for air to ground communication.
  • Familiarity with switching systems, copper telephone lines, coaxial cable and fiber links.

  • Reviewing facility drawings & documents including structural building and plot plans, electrical, Telco and signal flow schematics.
  • Providing cost estimates for projects and procuring all installation materials.
  • Regular communication with all project stakeholders and managing change requests.
  • Delivering project plans and engineering design packages, risk mitigation, state and federal required work orders and permits.
  • Coordinating regularly with the electronic installation team to make sure all requirements are being met and all required materials are on site.
  • Working with the facility manager on closing out the project and making sure there are no exceptions to the scope agreement.
  • Conducting the initial site survey to determine the current state and condition of each communication facility to assess the type and amount of resources involved in the upgrading/construction process. 
  • Engineering installations at Federal facilities, which include ARTCC, ATCT, BUEC, RCAG, RCL, RCO, RTR, and Mobile Communication Vehicles.
  • Acquisition of all project materials.
  • Conducting pre-installation meetings.
  • Communicating project status and corresponding variances to the project manager and financial analysts.

Engineering may include upgrading or replacement of the following:

  • Radio equipment
  • Radio racks
  • Telco equipment
  • Antennas
  • RF cables
  • Grounding system
  • Junction boxes
  • Lightning protection system
  • Towers
  • Poles
  • Platforms
  • General facility construction

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • B.S. in mechanical or electrical engineering or 6 years’ experience in a related technical field; Equivalent military training may be considered.
  • Willing to travel up to 40%
  • Ability to climb antenna towers up to 100’
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints
  • Must possess a valid, current drivers license
  • Must be able to pass government background check
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must be able to interview and work in Ontario, CA

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

  • At least 2 years of related experience delivering engineering implementation plans, engineering instructions, computer-aided design drawings.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the use of manual and power tools, test equipment such as communication test set, multi-meter, ohmmeter, power meter, megometer, anritsu, etc.
  • Experience working at FAA facilities.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience.
