Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance
This on-call role is responsible for monitoring and safeguarding the integrity of assessments delivered in AUC Sint Maarten’s Testing Center as well as maintaining a professional environment to support our students.  Proctors play a crucial role in ensuring that all Testing Center regulations are strictly adhered to.  The ideal candidate thrives in a team environment, demonstrates attention to detail, has good problem-solving skills and can maintain focus over an extended period of time.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and apply expert knowledge of Testing Center policies, practices and procedures.
  • Verify student identity during check-in process.
  • Assist with security screening of students entering the Testing Center
  • Continuously monitor students as they complete assessments.
  • Address student questions and issues with urgency; resolve issues as able or appropriately escalate if necessary.
  • Maintain a secure environment at all times, safeguarding against any misconduct that jeopardizes the integrity of the assessment. 
  • Ensure every student receives a fair and comfortable testing experience.
  • Accurately document all incidents
  • Assist with Testing Center set-up and post-assessment wrap-up activities and attend the pre-assessment briefing meeting for all assigned shifts.
  • Attend training sessions to maintain job skill levels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with time-keeping policies.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with students and colleagues.
  • Ability to write detailed and accurate reports.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to visually monitor student activities at a distance or through camera monitors.
  • Ability to learn basic computer and application troubleshooting protocols
  • Must have the ability to walk, stand, stand still and go up and down stairs over long periods of time (1 to 6 hours.)
  • Must maintain confidentiality of all testing material, proprietary information, and student academic records.
  • Must have a personal device, such as a cell phone with the ability to install Microsoft products, such as Teams.
  • Must be willing and able to monitor and respond to school communication outside of working hours.
  • Must be punctual for all assignments and training sessions

Education

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent
