Job Description

1. Position Summary

The Logging & Monitoring Solutions Engineer is responsible for analyzing internal customer requirements and implementing logging and monitoring solutions in collaboration with external providers.
The role focuses on designing, configuring, and optimizing centralized logging platforms (especially ELK stack) to ensure visibility, observability, and operational stability across IT services.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and collect requirements from internal stakeholders regarding logging and monitoring needs
  • Translate business and technical requirements into implementable solutions
  • Design, implement, and maintain logging and monitoring solutions based on ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
  • Collaborate closely with external service providers to deliver and operate solutions
  • Ensure proper onboarding of systems, applications, and infrastructure into the logging platform
  • Define and implement dashboards, alerts, and reporting mechanisms
  • Improve observability and troubleshooting capabilities across systems
  • Ensure compliance with logging standards, security policies, and audit requirements
  • Support incident analysis and root cause investigations using logging data
  • Optimize performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of the logging platform

3. Collaboration & Interfaces

  • Internal stakeholders (Infrastructure, Application teams, Security, Service Owners)
  • External providers responsible for implementation and operations
  • Cross-functional IT teams (e.g., Cloud, Network, Security)

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
  • Experience in logging, monitoring, and observability concepts
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure (servers, applications, cloud environments)
  • Experience working with external service providers / managed services
  • Familiarity with ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
  • Scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus
  • Experience integrating logs from multiple sources (applications, servers, network devices)
