Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We’re hiring two permanent Financial Insights Advisors to help embed our new Finance operating model and support our next organisational wide strategy Contact which will power us and provide linking operational activity with financial outcomes and elevating our financial storytelling across the business. You’ll be part of a transformed One Finance function (Foundational. Empowered. Future‑Focused) that guides investment, enables confident decisions, and safeguards trust across the enterprise.

You’ll help teams make better decisions with insight, build trust across functions, uphold governance and control practice, champion inclusion and continuous improvement, and deliver initiatives to a high standard—on time and with impact.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with Team/Initiative Leads to deliver outcomes and enable confident commercial decisions.
  • Support the enterprise wide financial insights framework helping drive consistency, clarity and commercial relevance across value streams.
  • Help uphold technical standards for variance analysis, performance commentary, KPI frameworks and cost allocation logic so insights are decision ready.
  • Collaborate in cross functional initiative teams to embed insight early in decision-making.
  • Contribute to technical signoff of key insights deliverables; assist with strategic input into Board & Committee reporting as required.
  • Mentor Analysts, participate in Future Finance operating rhythms, and help teams adapt to new ways of working.
  • Translate financial data into actionable insights for investment decisions, business cases and enterprise planning.

Qualifications

Ko wai koe | About You

You’re someone who thrives at the intersection of analysis, storytelling, and partnership.  You’re great at turning data into stories that make sense for everyone, no jargon needed. Don’t worry about ticking every box from day one; what matters is that you’re curious, keen to learn, and know how to build trust with the people around you.

We’re ideally looking for:

  • 3+ years post‑qualification experience (CA, CPA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent), ideally with exposure to business partnering or financial insights work.
  • Background in inhouse finance or commercial environments
  • Strong analytical capability and confidence with Excel; you enjoy exploring data and pulling out the ‘so what’.
  • Able to translate financial analysis into clear, decision‑ready insights for non‑finance audiences — your storytelling is as strong as your spreadsheets/dashboards.
  • A collaborative team player who builds trust quickly and enjoys working across functions and Initiative Teams.
  • A positive, adaptable mindset. Comfortable with pace, ambiguity and evolving ways of working.

We know no one arrives as a finished product — and we don’t expect you to. From your very first day, you’ll have the support and encouragement to keep developing and growing your skills. Storytelling is part of our DNA at Contact, it’s what keeps our energy flowing! If you’ve got one that connects with this role, send it our way.
