Job Description
The role
Clifford Chance is embedding artificial intelligence at the heart of how the firm works and delivers value to clients. The AI Communications Executive Manager will shape and deliver the firm’s internal and external AI communications, reinforcing its position as a trusted leader in responsible, client-focused AI.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across AI Strategy, Technology, People, Operations and Communications, this role will develop clear, credible narratives and communications programmes and content aligned with the firm's strategy.

This role sits at the centre of one of the most significant transformations facing the firm. The AI Communications Executive Manager will help determine how effectively Clifford Chance’s AI strategy is understood, embraced and valued—by its people, its clients and the wider market.
Key responsibilities
Internal AI communications and engagement
- Develop and lead an internal strategic communications plan that supports an AI-first mindset, positioning AI as a strategic enabler of client value, operational excellence and long-term competitiveness.
- Develop and implement a clear, human-centred AI narrative that builds understanding, confidence and trust among partners, lawyers and business professionals.
- Counsel and support partners and senior leaders with messaging and content to enable them to own and lead the AI story, including in conversations with clients, and advocacy through internal channels to drive adoption and value creation
- Develop a cadence of content to drive through global channels to engage employees in the overarching narrative on AI and the various tools to enable us to achieve our strategy.
- Oversee the AI intranet page and global AI channels (Viva engage) to ensure colleagues are informed, and able to access the resources and support needed to apply AI confidently and responsibly in their day-to-day work.
- Work in partnership with Change Management, People and Learning teams to ensure communications support broader behavioural and cultural change.
External positioning and profile
- Partner with the Earned Media team to shape and deliver the firm’s external AI communications strategy, aligning internal progress and external profile as a leader in responsible AI deployment.
- Support consistent, high-quality media and thought-leadership engagement across priority markets and channels.
- Ensure AI messaging is consistent and current across all owned and earned channels.
Leadership and collaboration
- Act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, translating complex AI developments and narratives into clear, relevant communications content and briefing documents.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across a global multi-practice area partnership to ensure alignment, consistency and pace.
- Work in partnership with communications colleagues across our global markets to ensure content resonates globally and they are supported to drive locally.
- Play an active role in shaping how the firm communicates significant AI milestones and developments.
Qualifications
Your experience
- Significant experience leading strategic communications programmes in a global, complex organisation, ideally within professional or financial services.
- Strong background in technology-related communications, change or transformation.
- Digitally confident in using AI, with experience across multiple channels and formats.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a creative strategic, data-driven mindset.
- Proven ability to advise senior leaders and develop compelling, credible narratives.
- Commercially astute, with sound judgement in balancing transparency, competitiveness and reputation.
- Collaborative, proactive and comfortable operating in ambiguity.

Hybrid working
This role follows our 'balanced' hybrid working approach and as long as business needs allow, you will be supported to work in a hybrid way with the expectation of working from the office for a minimum of 50% of your time.
