Job Description

This is a senior technical and leadership role where you’ll influence complex planning outcomes, represent the City at external forums, and mentor a high‑performing planning team. You’ll work on diverse applications, exercise delegated authority, and contribute to policy, compliance and continuous improvement across Development Services.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assess complex development and subdivision applications
- Exercise delegated authority under planning framework
- Supervise, mentor and support Planning Officers
- Provide expert planning advice to stakeholders
- Lead pre‑lodgement meetings with applicants
- Represent the City at SAT and DAP hearings
- Prepare Council and DAP agenda reports
- Manage compliance investigations and outcomes
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for an experienced community development professional with strong leadership and strategic capability. You’ll ideally bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
- Strong community engagement and partnership experience
- Proven ability to develop inclusive community programs
- High‑level stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Advanced report writing and briefing capability
- Strong project management and evaluation experience
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
- National Police Clearance (under 3 months)
- Current Driver’s Licence
