HRA is dedicated to fighting poverty and income inequality by providing New Yorkers in need with essential benefits such as Food Assistance and Emergency Rental Assistance. DHS is committed to preventing and addressing homelessness in New York City by employing a variety of innovative strategies to help families and individuals successfully exit shelter and return to self-sufficiency as quickly as possible.

The Chief Planning, Data Analytics, and New Initiatives Officer serve as a senior executive and principal strategic advisor to the Commissioner of the New York City Department of Social Services (DSS). The Chief is responsible for leading the Department's enterprise-wide planning, strategic analysis, performance management, data analytics, and the development of new initiatives designed to improve outcomes for New Yorkers experiencing poverty, economic insecurity, homelessness, disability, illness, abuse, and other significant challenges. The position requires an executive who can operate comfortably in both high-level strategy and complex operational environments, exercising independent judgment while maintaining close alignment with the Commissioner and the Agency’s broader leadership team.
