Job Description

The Division of Family and Child Health (FCH) comprises the Bureau of Maternal Infant and Reproductive Health, the Bureau of Early Intervention, the Office of School Health (OSH), and the Bureau of Administration. FCH is the largest Division within the agency, with a total staff of 2329, consisting of a footprint of 25 programmatic locations, and 1700 New York City Public Schools throughout the 5 boroughs.

Under direct supervision, the Operations Support Specialist performs essential physical labor and maintenance task to support the operations, safety, and upkeep of DFCH facilities. This role requires moving materials, operating equipment and performing basic landscaping and facility maintenance duties. The Operations Support Specialist will travel to various locations throughout the boroughs to ensure a safe and efficient work environment

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
Facility Support: Move lift and carry heavy objects, materials and equipment safely across DFCH locations

Equipment Operation: Safely operate manual, hand-held and power-driven tools required for maintenance and demolition task

Grounds maintenance: Care for lawns, shrubs and trees through mowing, pruning cultivating, seeding and fertilizing

Logistics & Transport: Drive motor vehicles to transport tools, materials and equipment between agency sites and needed

Safety and Compliance: Maintain a clean hazard-free work environment while strictly adhering to safety protocols

Team Assistance: Aid skilled craftsmen and others, and help coordinate daily field activities when assigned

License Requirements: Possession of a Motor Vehicle Driver's License valid in the State of New York. For appointments to certain positions,
possession of a B Commercial Driver License (CDL) valid in the State of New York may be required. There may be certain age requirements
to obtain this license. Employees must maintain the Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) during their employment
