Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional LIHTC Community Manager to join our team in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) properties and ensuring full compliance with all federal and state regulations. You will serve as a key liaison between our organization, residents, and regulatory agencies, fostering a supportive community environment while maintaining rigorous operational standards.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of LIHTC-funded residential properties, ensuring compliance with all program requirements and HUD regulations
- Manage tenant relations and community engagement initiatives, addressing resident concerns and fostering a positive living environment
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and records related to LIHTC compliance, including income certifications, rent calculations, and occupancy files
- Conduct regular property inspections and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure properties meet housing quality standards
- Prepare and submit required compliance reports to federal and state agencies, meeting all deadlines and regulatory requirements
- Administer lease agreements, tenant screening, and move-in/move-out procedures in accordance with LIHTC guidelines
- Coordinate with property management staff, contractors, and external partners to ensure efficient property operations
- Monitor and manage property budgets, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Respond to tenant inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner, resolving issues effectively
- Stay current with changes in LIHTC regulations and affordable housing policies, implementing updates as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in LIHTC property management or affordable housing administration
- Demonstrated knowledge of LIHTC program requirements, HUD regulations, and California housing laws
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills with the ability to manage multiple compliance tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with residents, staff, and regulatory agencies
- Experience with income verification, rent calculations, and tenant file documentation
- Knowledge of fair housing laws and commitment to equal opportunity practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Problem-solving skills and ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
- Preferred: Experience with grant administration or budget management
- Preferred: Familiarity with California-specific affordable housing programs and local regulations
- Preferred: Experience with data analysis and reporting systems
