This position is within our ACIL (Auto Corporate Industry & Leisure) Tribe. The ACIL Tribe, In a nut shell, focuses on high availability product for Dealership customers to manage their inventory and prospects. It plays a vital role in allowing them to maximise their online customer interaction and sale funnels.

From integrations and billing to user management and authorizations, the tribe are responsible for a high availability, low latency platform built for client success.

All of our teams use a variation of C#, .NET core, ASP.NET MVC, Microservices and AWS, JavaScript and Angular.

Job Description

What you’ll be doing

  • Working within the ACIL tribe you will use your expertise in modern agile practices to contribute to planning, building and supporting great software solutions that deliver quality at scale, automating where possible.   
  • Be involved in all aspects of software engineering practices including breaking down work, code review, testing, source control, build processes 
  • Collaborate and build great connections with your own team, the wider ACIL Group, and the larger carsales family 
  • Create and enhance team culture, by sharing your knowledge and ideas, giving and receiving constructive feedback 

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

We build distributed systems using a wide range of tools and technologies. As a Software Engineer, you'll bring deep technical expertise and lead by example. You won’t need to know every tool we use, but strong experience is always highly regarded. 

  • Experience with backend development in .NET ecosystems. 
  • Strong frontend development experience, Angular or React. 
  • Proven track record building event‑driven and distributed systems (e.g. CQRS, Event Sourcing, message queues). 
  • Strong knowledge of AWS cloud platform. 
  • Applied knowledge of DDD, TDD, and modern engineering practices. 
  • Performance tuning at both application and database levels. 
  • Passion for clean code, continuous improvement, and scalable design. 
  • Knowledge of applied AI tooling (e.g. using AI, agentic systems) to enhance productivity and solution design. 
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices such as CI/CD, containers, and infrastructure as code. 
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
