Job Description

What you’ll do

As the Engineering Team Lead, you will lead, influence and inspire your team of engineers with plenty of exciting work in the pipeline and you will get to experience all facets of the development lifecycle, roadmap and strategy planning.

We are looking for a technically proficient people leader to manage a team of engineers as well as partner with Technical Leads and Product Owners to deliver technology products and who will be excited in coaching, mentoring and developing people in the right direction. 

  • Leading a team of talented engineers by promoting, supporting and improving the Ways of Working of the team.
  • Driving and promoting simplicity, quality, speed, scale, value and innovation within the team.
  • Managing and contributing to the team's sustainable delivery approach with quality & the customer in mind for the teams outcomes.
  • Experience in software design, understanding in depth the software delivery lifecycle, importance of automation and the impact of technical debt to teams and software outcomes.
  • You will drive innovation on products and services that will improve our customer experience as well as scale our systems as our customer-base continues to grow
  • You will help formulate, interpret and implement our strategy for technology while ensuring the application and enforcement of technology standards across your team and the wider organization

Qualifications

What we are looking for?

  • Share expertise in people leadership, motivating, coaching, mentoring and developing software engineers.
  • You have experience architecting and building robust and scalable platform in the cloud - on high traffic sites, for scalability, reliability and performance. You also know how to cost optimize your cloud architecture.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Demonstrates and is fluent in modern technology practices, including management and leadership methods, having had experience in coaching and mentoring these practices.
  • Experience in risk management principles, understanding the impact of technical decisions on software risk.
  • Experience in software design, understanding in depth the software delivery lifecycle, importance of automation and the impact of technical debt to teams and software outcomes.
