About the Role

This is a senior, specialist strategy role focused on one of Canva's most critical and complex strategic domains: AI monetisation, pricing, and packaging.

You'll lead the strategic thinking on how Canva prices and packages AI-powered features — navigating the tension between generous access and sustainable economics, designing usage-based models that scale, and ensuring our approach is competitive in a fast-moving market. You'll work at the intersection of product, growth, finance, and go-to-market, and your recommendations will directly shape Canva's roadmap and commercial strategy.

You'll thrive here if you bring deep domain expertise in pricing and packaging (especially usage-based or consumption models) and/or experience in AI product strategy at an AI-native or AI-forward company. We're looking for someone who can pair strategic rigour with commercial intuition, and who's energised by the challenge of building monetisation frameworks for a product category that's being invented in real time.

What you’ll do:

  • Own and lead the strategic direction for AI pricing, packaging, and monetisation at Canva
  • Design and iterate on pricing and packaging frameworks — including credit-based, usage-based, and tiered models — that scale with AI adoption and user value
  • Analyse the economics of AI-powered features (cost-to-serve, willingness to pay, competitive positioning) to inform commercial decisions
  • Lead cross-functional projects that span product, growth, finance, data, and GTM to bring pricing and monetisation strategies from insight to implementation
  • Proactively identify emerging opportunities and risks in the AI landscape and translate them into strategic recommendations for Canva's leadership
  • Develop strategic frameworks that guide how Canva approaches AI monetisation over the medium and long term
  • Mentor peers on problem-solving frameworks and contribute to a culture of strategic rigour

What we're looking for

  • 8-12 years of experience, with a strong foundation in one or more of: pricing and packaging strategy, AI product management/strategy, growth strategy, or management consulting — ideally with meaningful time spent in a high-growth tech company or AI-native business
  • Deep domain expertise in at least one of: (a) pricing and packaging in tech/SaaS/usage-based businesses, or (b) AI product strategy and economics
  • Proven ability to design and implement pricing or monetisation models — not just advise on them
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a strong commercial and financial intuition
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity, structure complex problems, and drive to clear, actionable recommendations
  • Track record of influencing senior leaders and aligning cross-functional stakeholders around bold strategic bets
  • Strong communicator who can simplify complexity for both business and technical audiences
  • Deep curiosity about how AI is reshaping product economics and business models
