Job Description

We are searching for an ambitious, quantitative, and detail-oriented individual needed to support and improve our business unit’s financial activities. The Marketing & Regulatory Communications business is a dynamic and growing segment of the Broadridge family, serving some of the largest mutual fund, retirement, and variable insurance providers in the United States. You will balance business unit analysis & reporting, key client billings, forecasting & planning, and ad-hoc analyses. In addition, you'll bring the desire and aptitude to learn the operational aspects of the business, applying your knowledge to improve the financial intelligence provided to management.

Business Unit Reporting:

Review the monthly revenue database and reconcile to the G-L. Work with central finance team to provide commentary on executive committee reports. Research significant revenue & expense variances. Build & maintain trend reports for revenues & COGS to support the forecast and planning processes. Review offshore headcount, expenses, & cross-charges on a monthly basis. Review monthly sales report values & allocations to the business unit

Tri-annual Client Billings:

  • Prepare tri-annual billing estimates for the business unit’s largest clients:
  • Compare to prior year’s actuals
  • Generate on-line reports to capture fulfillment activity
  • Prepare the tri-annual invoicing templates
  • Prepare detailed back-up schedules – tie to invoicing volumes & $$’s
  • Prepare revenue accruals to mitigate timing issues related to Tri-annual billings

Forecasts & Plan

  • Work with central finance team and business unit management to achieve the following:
  • Develop revenue forecast & Plan - by client / by product
  • Review expenses and prepare adjustments as necessary
  • Coordinate headcount, labor, internal print, and internal cross charge projections
  • Generate detailed business volume projections for internal service providers
  • Prepare reconciliation of forecast/Plan to prior forecast/Plan as appropriate
  • Pro-forma P&L - Review projected results with management. Reconcile to G-L and internal revenue waterfall analysis.

Financial Reporting:

  • Review and approve business-related invoices. Provide quotes & invoicing templates for various ad-hoc print requests. Build templates for billing/invoicing new clients & services Capital project reporting
  • Prepare detailed schedule of capitalized & non-capitalized expenses
  • Ensure accurate G-L coding of all expenses
  • Review expenditures & amortization vs. Plan targets
  • Approve journal entries for internal cross-charges and expense accruals Approve Accounts Payable invoices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Expert Excel skills, Oracle, Broadridge internal applications, and other quantitative applications. MS Access a plus.
  • MBA or CPA desired; Bachelor’s degree required
  • Corporate financial reporting & analysis; Public or private accounting
  • Mutual fund or variable annuity experience helpful
  • Proven technical accounting training

  • Ability to identify and implement creative solutions that support greater efficiency and strengthen internal controls
