Job Description
Brightspeed has an exciting opportunity for a Project Management Professional (PMP) to join our team! This is a remote position with up to 25% travel requirement. This position manages the execution of large-scale programs and projects, for Communities Strategy and Operations in SFH and MDU communities.
The Project Management Professional – Strategic Operations is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale, cross-functional programs and projects that support strategic business initiatives. This role applies to PMP-aligned project management methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while meeting defined quality and business outcomes.
The Project Management Professional serves as the single point of accountability for assigned initiatives, managing all aspects of project delivery from initiation through successful completion or launch. This includes coordinating stakeholders, managing risks and dependencies, controlling budgets, and ensuring readiness for operational handoff.
This position is remote. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of our services.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Program Leadership
- Lead end-to-end PMP for large-scale Strategic Operations programs and projects, from project intake and charter development through execution, launch, and closeout.
- Apply PMP best practices to manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, issues, and dependencies across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Ensure alignment between project objectives and broader strategic and operational goals.
Scope, Schedule & Deliverables Management
- Define and manage project scope, requirements, milestones, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
- Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans, timelines, and work breakdown structures.
- Drive accountability across cross-functional teams to ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
Budget & Financial Management
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
- Track actuals versus planned spend and proactively address variances.
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved financial parameters and support leadership decision-making with clear financial reporting.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner with Strategic Operations leaders, functional teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution.
- Facilitate effective communication, decision-making, and issue resolution across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Lead project governance routines, including status reviews, risk assessments, and executive updates.
Risk, Issue & Change Management
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues that could impact delivery, budget, or launch readiness.
- Manage change requests using formal change control processes to maintain project integrity.
- Escalate critical risks and decisions appropriately with clear recommendations.
Launch Readiness & Project Closeout
- Ensure operational readiness for successful project completion or launch, including documentation, training, and transition planning.
- Validate that all project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria have been met.
- Conduct project close-out activities, including lessons learned and continuous improvement recommendations.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Administration, Project or Program Management, Business Development, or related field.
- Must be PMP Certified.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and build grassroots project and program plans that deliver a positive opening day experience through best practices.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
