Company Description

This is a unique opportunity to get on the ground floor of an Industrial AI start-up founded by a Stanford professor. We are looking for a smart Industrial AI Applications Engineer, ideally, with aerospace domain experience.

Our Digital Twin AI product uses proprietary AI/ML algorithms to provide significant improvement of operations in asset fleet. 

The company has won substantial business from US Air Force and is looking to leverage it into scalable growth in the short term, and an exit in the medium term (2-3 years).

Job Description

You will start in a part-time consulting position at a competitive hourly rate. As the company grows, you will have an opportunity to transition into a full-time employee.

The position requires ability to learn Industrial AI trade on the job from top SMEs, including Stanford and Georgia Tech professors.

We are looking for an application engineer who will be ultimately responsible for several aspects of AI application integration and usage. A successful candidate will understand what our AI does, how the AI software works, and help to make development and deployment processes work smoothly.

The needs include:

  • Interface with analytics group developing the AI analytics engine to advocate SW and end-user requirements
  • Interface with SW development group to help integrate the analytics engine
  • Verification and validation of the AI by using simulated data
  • Interface with customer data, data engineering
  • Customer consulting on use of the AI app

Main Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in the subject matter area of Industrial IoT and contribute to our Industrial AI algorithms while learning from some of the world’s top experts.
  • Interface with data needed to set up the company’s AI/ML application products.
  • Perform data engineering for the AI/ML Analytics Engine.
  • Develop strong technical relationships with engineers at our customers and partners.
  • Contribute to product management by understanding and representing customer needs.

Qualifications

 

  • Hands-on experience with Matlab
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physics. Degree in Aerospace Engineering is preferred.
  • A passion for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Industrial IoT.
  • Background in some of the following: statistics, optimization, controls, signal processing, applied math, and related practical applications.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work both with industry customers and PhD engineers.
  • Ability to learn quickly and use technologies necessary for AI integration.
  • Programming skills in one or several languages, preferably including Java and/or Python
  • Experience with SQL is a plus.

All candidates must be US Citizens.

You will start working remotely at your home office with weekly in-person meetings in Palo Alto, CA after the end of current lockdown.
