Job Description

Our Technical Operations team focuses on Linux systems, configuration management, cloud automation, virtualization and containers, network engineering, security, database architecture, continuous integration, network filesystems, and web scale production infrastructure.

We use agile sprint models to support several Development teams that build web services and front-end components. We also run our own projects related to infrastructure, automation, monitoring, continuous integration and internal tools. Our job is to increase development velocity and ensure stable and secure production systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with Technical Operations and Development teams to build and maintain private and public cloud environments to specifications developed closely with multiple teams.
  • Support and automate the deployment of compute, storage, and applications.
  • Build proactive monitoring and alerting tools. Provide standards, documentation, and coaching to developers.
  • Share an on-call rotation and be an escalation contact for service incidents

Qualifications

Must-haves:
  • At least 2+ years of experience in Technical Operations, including system configuration, application deployment, and production support. More experience is needed for a senior role.
  • Solid Linux system administration abilities.
  • Strong scripting experience with bash/shell, Perl, or Python.
  • Real-world experience managing large-scale AWS & Colo environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the belief that you can fix anything.
  • Solid hands-on experience in networking, alert/notification systems, configuration management, version control, and build systems.
  • BS in Computer Science or a similar discipline from a top school
Pluses:
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Experience leading a DevOps team
