Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled MES Application Engineer to drive the development, standardization, and deployment of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software interfaces and provide expert consultation to machine suppliers and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and MES technologies, with the ability to translate business and production requirements into robust technical solutions.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop MES interface communication concepts based on manufacturing process flows and operational requirements.
  • Define and document MES interface specifications, including events, triggers, data exchange requirements, and telegram/message structures.
  • Review, validate, and ensure compliance of MES interfaces developed by machine suppliers with established standards and specifications.
  • Provide technical consultation and guidance to suppliers, plants, and internal stakeholders regarding MES specifications, configurations, and best practices.
  • Lead and support MES interface commissioning activities, including pre-acceptance testing, final acceptance, and pilot phase execution.
  • Coordinate BWB-related activities, including technical documentation creation and commissioning support, in close collaboration with the BWB core team.
  • Support the global rollout and implementation of standardized MES solutions across manufacturing plants.
  • Develop MES training materials and conduct knowledge transfer sessions to enhance user competency and adoption of MES standards.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of OPCON XML, Oracle Database, and C# programming.
  • Proven knowledge and hands-on experience with Bosch Nexeed MES.
  • Strong understanding of MES architecture and module functionalities.
  • Basic knowledge of OSS (OpCon Server System) configuration and administration.
  • In-depth understanding of process flows within SMT and Final Assembly operations in electronics manufacturing environments.
  • Basic understanding of IT systems and infrastructure within manufacturing environments.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in utilizing modern digital collaboration and communication tools.
  • Good command of English as a business communication language.
  • Ability to build effective networks and collaborate with Process Competence Networks (CNs) and manufacturing plants.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Openness and willingness to work in multicultural and international environments.
  • Understanding of IT/OT integration and cybersecurity requirements in manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering (e.g. electronics and communication engineering, automation engineering, electrical engineering or similar)

  • Good understanding of  Industry 4.0 / Data Analytics / Software Solutions
