Job Description

The Robert Bosch Anderson Industrial Engineering Department supports manufacturing operations by generating accurate labor and machine standards used to determine product cost and pricing.  Our department also ensures implementation of continuous improvement through utilization of lean tools from the Bosch Production System (BPS).  In order to ship parts to our customers, Industrial Engineers also use SAP software to create and maintain accurate plant routings for all Anderson products. After being thoroughly trained and with support, our co-ops are assigned and complete significant projects throughout the plant, gaining critical Industrial Engineering experience as well as exposure to several different manufacturing processes in each of our (4) manufacturing buildings.

 

Job Description:

*Manage assigned projects from concept through completion.  Develop presentations for Management utilizing facts and data to back up recommendations for improvements.

*Learn and promote Bosch Production Systems and Lean principles; Help to design Material, Information and People Flow.

*Assist with tasks relating to the identification of improvements in the Manufacturing Value Stream(s) and provide support to variety of production groups, including Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics and Warehousing.

*Provide support to manufacturing groups through facilitation of appropriate problem-solving tools.

*Perform ergonomic assessments. Identify/Support and implement solutions to ergonomic issues on various workstations.

*Master time study skills, including the breakdown of job into work elements, associate performance rating, and study summaries that will be used in routings, job descriptions, balance charts or other Industrial Engineering functions.

*Perform production line audits to ensure accuracy/conformance to applicable standard.

Qualifications

Must be eligible to work in the US without VISA sponsorship from Bosch

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university 

Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering 

  • Minimum preferred overall GPA of at least 3.0
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, experience with VBA coding a plus (but not required)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Skills in working with a variety of associates and organizational levels
  • Detail-oriented, strong work ethic, demonstrating a high degree of professionalism
  • Strong analytical, organizational, planning and intellectual skills
  • Results-oriented, flexible, a team player
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude, passionate and eager to learn, ability to work with minimal supervision
  • High ethical standards, sound judgement and initiative, dependable 
  • Able to complete multiple rotations: Fall 2024, Summer 2025, Spring 2026
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

Large student network on-site with approximately 25-30 college students.

Salary: $22.00
Housing Stipend of $2500 per rotation for Co-ops who attend school more than 50 miles away from Bosch Anderson.

Indefinite U.S. Work authorized individuals only.  Current/Future sponsorship for work authorization unavailable.

Able to complete 3 rotations.
