The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our  Metal Coating Maintenance team at our Western Port Manufacturing facility as a Mechanical Maintenance Leader. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products Portfolio, we have five major manufacturing sites at Western Port which operate 24 x 7 and deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to export and domestic customers.

In this key leadership role, that impacts the safety of our people as well as the quality and reliability of our equipment and products, you will lead, motivate and develop our high performing team to meet and exceed our customer needs. Reporting into the Maintenance Manager, you will be leading a crew of up to 10 members comprising of technical specialists and mechanical trades working on the Metal Coating Lines.

What Will You Do?

While leading your team and having a direct impact on the delivery performance of BlueScope Australian Steel Products, this role will see you:

• reviewing the daily performance of equipment related matters
• implement asset management plans for the plant
• lead your team in producing a high standard of output while working to scheduled plans
• nurturing the growth and development of your team
• regularly reviewing and prioritising future project work with the maintenance team

More About You

You will be an engaging leader focused on developing your team to deliver solutions to complex problems. In addition, you will bring:

• a background in mechanical trade or engineering qualifications
• experience working in a manufacturing or similar environment
• leadership and guidance ensuring your team follows manufacturing excellence targets
• a strong customer focus and the ability to deal with ambiguity and change
• good communication and influencing skills to deliver outcomes through others
• the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
