The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our team at our Western Sydney Service Centre as a Shift Electrician and Operator. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

In this role, you will provide hands-on electrical maintenance services and operational support to our production teams who operate within a continuous manufacturing environment.

Your contribution will enable improved machine safety, uptime and performance so we can continue to make and deliver our world-class product to our valued customers. You will utilise your technical background and experience to deliver key outcomes, whilst ensuring your safety and that of your colleagues is a priority.

Located in Erskine Park, NSW - this role works Monday to Friday, day and night, 12-hour shifts. When you join our team, we offer access to our Employee Assistance Provider, annual flu vaccinations and training and development.

What Will You Do?

With your proven understanding of industrial electrical systems, you will:

  • follow the safe system of work and develop isolation instructions and job safety analysis for the required work
  • perform safe, efficient and effective emergency repairs
  • fault-find on electrical equipment including PLC’s, drives and instrumentation systems
  • perform equipment inspections, identify improvement opportunities and report on findings
  • operate the manufacturing line

More About You

You are driven by self-development, committed to our success, and have technical experience within an industrial, manufacturing environment.  You will also bring:  

  • electrical trade qualifications - a current A Grade NSW Electrical License
  • experience working with PLC’s
  • a commitment to your own safety and wellbeing and care for others
  • experience in fault finding and problem solving and initiative in carrying out equipment repairs
  • experience or exposure working in a similar environment in Manufacturing
