The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Customer Service team in our BlueScope Building Components business as an Sales Estimator. BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions and services through its four leading brands: Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild and Kiteleys. 

In this role you will be working closely with our internal sales and customer service teams to provide estimating expertise so that our customers can build and create great structures to maximize their homes potential. Focusing on estimating for a range of our products that include patios, pergolas and verandahs.

We have a office locations at Gillman, Mile End, Gawler, Marion and Noarlunga - you'll be offered the flexibility to work across these sites, to best fit in with your lifestyle.  

What Will You Do?

Working with our friendly and diverse team, you will:

  • maintain and enhance relationships with internal and external customers
  • share your technical knowledge and skills, complete design structures in our software by interpreting and clarifying the customer’s concept
  • interact with customers through phone and email
  • provide guidance on the design concept and complete take-off’s
  • develop estimates and quotes in line with business pricing policy
  • monitor customer trends and seek ways to improve the customer’s experience
  • adopt a continuous improvement approach to processes and systems and actively suggest improved ways or working

More About You

With your experience in estimating and drafting or perhaps you have a building or trades background, you will be a quick learner who’s comfortable with numbers and technical drawings and computer based applications.  You will bring:

  • a commitment to a strong positive team culture - proactive approach to your work and ability to work autonomously
  • excellent customer service skills, working with supervisors, suppliers, trades people and contractors, maintaining and improving at all times
  • experience in estimating with high level of attention to detail
  • good process management and organizational skills
  • excellent skills in Microsoft Office
