The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Victorian Processing and Logistics team at our Western Port Manufacturing facility as an Logistics Coordinator. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products Portfolio, we have four major manufacturing sites at Western Port which operate 24 x 7 and deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to export and domestic customers. 

In this diverse and fast paced role, you will be part of a recently formed service team that look after the day to day inventory management and planning processes for our busy site.  You will collaborate across the business and ensure our steel coil products are readily available for dispatch via road or rail. This will see you providing consistently high levels of service as you work with a supportive team to ensure products reach our customers reliably and on-time. 

A self-motivated, quick thinker, you will roll with the punches often juggling more than one task at any given time as you enjoy keeping busy and working in a dynamic team environment.

We currently have two positions available:

  • 1x permanent
  • 1x fixed term contract (2 year tenure)

What Will You Do?

Working with a supportive team, provide high levels of service to our customers and operations, you will:

  • work with our operations and planning teams to provide vital data and certify accuracy of inventory levels and stock control before they are distributed to our customers via road and rail
  • support all critical coil inventory matters and ensure customer demands are being fulfilled for the following day
  • be a key contact between carriers, dispatch points, scheduling and planning teams, facilitating relationships that yield continuous improvement
  • generate reports to effectively monitor warehouse performance and identify any opportunities for improvement
  • work closely with our internal stakeholders including our transport, production and customer service teams to coordinate the most efficient and cost-effective delivery schedules for our customers

 More About You

Having good working knowledge of transport, operations or logistics environments, you will bring:

  • a strong customer focus and the ability to deal with ambiguity and change
  • computer competency with the ability to learn new systems and proficiency in Microsoft Suite (ie Excel)
  • high attention to detail and the ability to multitask in an (at times) high pressure environment
  • a continuous drive in improving procedures and process
  • a commitment to your own safety and wellbeing while caring for others
