Job Description

We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to become part of the Hot Mills Engineering team at Port Kembla Steelworks, one of the largest manufacturing facilities in Australia. This position reports to the Hot Mills – Electrical Engineering Team Leader for the execution of plant operations support and capital and improvement projects.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, as an electrical engineer, you will perform electrical design; estimating, generate enquiry and tender specifications, generate technical and installation specifications, support electrical installation activities, commissioning activities, fault-finding activities, provide advice, manage projects, and improve the steel-processing and manufacturing capability of BlueScope. 

Who are we looking for?

A qualified electrical engineer interested in fulfilling a broad role in the electrical engineering discipline covering all functions as outlined above. Current knowledge and experience are beneficial but not mandatory.  We are looking for a person with a strong desire, work ethic and capability to develop and further grow in the role. All levels of experience will be considered.

You will also possess the following:

  • a degree qualification in electrical engineering;
  • sound technical and analytical capability; and
  • proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Experience in workplace health and safety and in facilitating electrical engineering design, tender, supply, construction and commissioning, and project management is also desirable.
