Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our Maintenance Improvement team at our Port Kembla Steelworks, one of the largest manufacturing facilities in Australia.

Reporting to the Maintenance Improvement Manager, you will lead a team of engineers and technicians who provide monitoring and analysis of complex industrial machinery used in the manufacture of BlueScope’s products.  Working as part of a multidisciplinary team across the manufacturing business, you will provide technical support to both your team and the wider asset management teams.

Who are we looking for?

An experienced Engineer with sound technical knowledge and expertise in machine condition analysis.  You will have demonstrated people management skills and the ability to drive and motivate your team to achieve results. 

You will also have the following skills and attributes:

  • a strong safety focus encompassing people, plant, systems and processes;
  • capability to analyse asset performance and provide feedback to maintenance teams to improve equipment performance, capability and costs;
  • ability to evaluate emerging technologies and support the implementation of these technologies to improve asset management across the business;
  • ability to investigate failures in asset performance to determine root cause and recommend corrective measures to prevent reoccurance;
  • good working knowledge of SAP (or similar ERP system) and MS Office; and
  • degree qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials or Mechatronics Engineering OR equivalent trade qualification, with additional post-trade/diploma engineering training.
