We are seeking a Data Scientist to contribute to our next level of growth and expansion.
You will be part of the Data Engineering team but will work supporting the Data Science team. Your role will be to help them by delivering clean, reliable, and automated data processes that support financial decision-making.
If you're based in Argentina you can work 100% remotely. If you're located in Montevideo you also have the option to work from our local office.
Job Description
- Receive financial data and transform it into financial breakdowns.
- Clean, prepare, and upload financial data into Snowflake.
- Run and improve Python scripts that generate financial cuts, with a strong reliance on Pandas and SQL.
- Write, edit, and optimize SQL queries to support reporting and analysis.
- Automate manual workflows.
- Support the migration of workflows from Airflow to Prefect.
- Create and maintain schemas in Snowflake for new tables.
- Handle ad-hoc Finance requests, sometimes with short deadlines.
- Collaborate in meetings with Data Science and Data Engineering teams, contributing to process improvements and decision-making.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with Python, SQL, and Pandas.
- Hands-on experience with ETL pipelines and data cleaning.
- Familiarity with Snowflake (SQL knowledge is key; direct Snowflake experience is a plus).
- Experience with DBT is highly valued, but not required (processes are expected to migrate there in the future).
- Familiarity with Git.
- Basic knowledge of AWS.
- Experience migrating or maintaining workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect).
- Strong analytical skills with a background in data analysis.
- Knowledge of financial concepts and comfort working with Finance teams.
- Ability to handle ad-hoc requests and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and autonomy to propose and implement improvements.
What about languages?
You will need excellent written and verbal English for clear and effective communication with the team.
