As a Head of Global People Services, you will be instrumental in supporting Biogen GBS strategy to streamline processes to reach our ultimate goal – offering life-changing therapies to our patients. You’ll work closely with local to global stakeholders and GBS Leaders to co-create the way we work and support Biogen organization globally. You will report to the Head of Global Business Services Operations and will sit on the GBS Leadership and Warsaw site Leadership teams. 

Job Description

About This Role

  • You will be responsible for the services delivery to internal stakeholders to the highest possible level in line with Biogen strategy.
  • You will provide leadership, direction, prioritization, and execution of shared services provided to the employee population, including HR Operations, Payroll, and Centralized Learning Services support
  • As this is a highly collaborative role, you will provide leadership of hire-to-retire lifecycle processes, drive the consistency of our global business, and maximize operational efficiency while optimizing business impact and leadership of key services
  • You will provide thought leadership, develop, and translate strategy into operational goals and objectives, and ensure the delivery of operations to set goals. One of the key responsibilities is identifying gaps and issues that prohibit efficient, effective, and compliant business processes, driving solutions for evolving business requirements, prioritizing process improvements and project prioritization, remedying process deficiencies, and championing investments to optimize the process area, delivering high customer satisfaction and business impact
  • You will also have responsibility for a business-critical International Payroll project, collaborating and working with the international payroll teams, global HR, Finance, and GBS to successfully implement and execute on payroll consolidation and capabilities

What you will do: 

  • Direct, plan, and manage the People Services team in accordance with the organization's strategic direction. This includes leading HR Operations, Centralized Learning Services, and US and International Payroll teams to respond to internal stakeholders’ inquiries and deliver on operational processing activities
  • Work to build teams’ high engagement for high performance and group commitments to goals and measures, which results to improve efficiencies to achieve service level agreements. Ensures positive internal and external relationships by adequate communication, feedback solicitation, and customer satisfaction measurement. Is a champion for promoting Biogen Essential in everyday work
  • Partner with COEs and key internal customers to ensure seamless adoption of programs and policies. Identify improvement opportunities, champion a culture of continuous improvement, and collaborate with HR and GBS Functions to execute projects
  • Establish and communicate a clear vision for the end-to-end Hire to Retire process in collaboration with HR. Develop and translate HR Services strategy into a multi-year roadmap, anticipating needs, identifying necessary resources, and managing risk., Develop and manage process governance models in conjunction with stakeholders
  • Oversee operational reviews of global processes in conjunction with regional service delivery teams and customers. Create a high-performance, customer-centric culture throughout the organization and continuously monitor the needs of the customer. Ensures process area supports compliance goals; reports the status of the control environment.

 

Please note that this role requires a candidate to be a holder of work permit & residency in Poland.

This role is in hybrid work model.

This role requires the availability to travel internationally occasionally.

 

Qualifications

Who you are:

  • Previous senior management and strong leadership experience in International Payroll and HR Operations required
  • 15+ years of diverse work experience in human resources including payroll, and Finance operations
  • Experience in an HR service center/call center operation, Shared Service, or GBS environment required, including service delivery, process optimization, service placement, and service infrastructure
  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance acumen or related discipline or equivalent work experience. Postgraduate studies or MBA would be an advantage
  • Ability to analyze project and business needs and draw pragmatic conclusions to determine resources necessary to meet objectives
  • Strong track record of working across all functional areas of the company to establish credibility and engage/influence others to ensure the most effective solutions are chosen and implemented
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to organize, execute, and plan projects: ability to develop detailed work plans with appropriate resource requirements. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
  • Must be sensitive to and can manage cross-culturally. Ability to manage conflict and pressure by effectively facilitating healthy interaction, discourse, and decision-making that builds consensus and alignment
  • Proven ability to see a vision and gain alignment across the organization with exceptional impacting and influencing skills at levels of stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Must possess outstanding communication, change management, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with enterprise-wide information systems
