Job Description
BESIX Watpac has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager or Senior Contracts Administrator to join our Qld, NT & NZ Construction team based in Brisbane. As a key commercial lead, you will oversee contract administration on large-scale projects while providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the commercial team.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Lead and manage project contract administration, ensuring compliance with head contract and subcontract requirements.
- Manage procurement, trade package tendering, subcontractor negotiations, and budget performance.
- Prepare and administer subcontract agreements, variations, and progress claims.
- Monitor project financial performance through cost reporting, forecasting, variation tracking and commercial reporting.
- Provide commercial advice to project teams and maintain effective cost controls and contract management.
- Mentor, coach, and supervise Contracts Administrators, Cadets, and project administrative staff.
- Manage tender documentation, review submissions, and prepare tender recommendations.
Qualifications
The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management or relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in leading contracts administration on large building projects, including mentoring and supervising others.
- Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the business, working effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to cope with shifting work priorities to deliver results.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management capability.
