The Product Development team, consisting of 14 people, is seeking a high achieving individual to support BEKTranslate, our AI-driven data processing platform. BEKTranslate alerts clinical researchers in real-time when patients have a time-sensitive medical event required for eligibility. Now millions of patients can be offered the chance to participate in clinical research and advance medical innovation.  BEKTranslate is revolutionary for ensuring no patient is missed for critical and emergency care clinical trials.

You will be responsible for the development and enhancement of electronic medical record (EMR) data processing pipelines in order to accelerate clinical research in critical areas such as cancer and Alzheimer’s.

Your Mission:

• Development, enhancement, and maintenance of EMR data pipelines

• Work with the Research Services team to launch the BEKHealth platform with new customers

• Producing high-quality, maintainable code and technical documentation

• Ensure compliance with software development life cycle and other processes

• Improve patient lives and advance medical innovation

Your Competencies:

• Curious, enjoys working with data, exploring medical ontologies/coding dictionaries, looking for patterns and outliers, and building the future of medicine

Your Education and Experience:

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in a technical or scientific field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar.

• 2+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, software developer, or related role preferred

• Experience with Python and SQL required

• Experience working with pandas, celery and pyodbc strongly preferred

• Experience working with REST APIs is required

• Experience designing or working with ETL pipelines required

• Experience with back-end databases such as Postgres, MySQL, or SQLServer required

• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and patient data is

• preferred

• Experience dealing with protected health information (PHI) is a plus

• Experience with medical terminology or medical ontologies/semantics is a plus

• Experience with Kubernetes required

• Cloud oriented and familiar with SaaS models.
