Job Description

Job Scope and Responsibilities

Maintenance Management

  1. Organize routine service schedules to ensure machinery, equipment, and infrastructure are maintained efficiently.
  2. Allocate tasks to contractors or liaise with internal client departments and teams for effective task execution.
  3. Check, calibrate, and repair instruments to maintain operational accuracy.
  4. Replace or fit new parts for equipment, plant, and buildings.
  5. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, resolving issues or arranging for replacements to minimize downtime.
  6. Conduct scheduled checks on machinery and parts, ensuring they are in optimal condition.
  7. Overhaul and replace components in line with maintenance schedules.
  8. Control maintenance tools, equipment, and stores to ensure readiness and functionality.
  9. Monitor and manage maintenance costs to stay within budget.
  10. Develop, monitor, and implement preventive maintenance programs.
  11. Perform daily maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, and general repairs.
  12. Coordinate and execute mechanical and electrical improvement projects for production, warehouse, plant, and building facilities.
  13. Perform in-house maintenance work to reduce downtime while awaiting contractor support.

Safety and Compliance

  1. Serve as the Becker Loss Prevention Coordinator, ensuring compliance and auditing according to Becker Loss Prevention Standards.
  2. Act as a secretary for the safety committee and manage all documentation and coordination required by DOSH.
  3. Oversee the renewal of licenses for equipment such as goods lifts and air compressors.
  4. Ensure compliance with Lembaga Elektrik Negara regulations concerning electricity supply.

Environmental Compliance (DOE)

  1. Maintain and update waste inventory records, including scheduled waste management in compliance with DOE requirements.
  2. Coordinate with external consultants for LEV system and dust collector monitoring and submit reports to DOE as needed.
  3. Ensure certification in environmental professional practices, particularly for managing scheduled waste and dust collectors.

Sustainability and Reporting

  1. Compile and report on the Becker Sustainability Program, including EKPI and climate reports.

Facilities Management

  1. Ensure the maintenance and efficient operation of all company facilities, including office spaces, plant areas, and buildings.
  2. Oversee the issuance and maintenance of employee safety equipment, including boots and uniforms, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  3. Manage locker allocation and upkeep for employees.
  4. Liaise with external vendors for maintenance and facilities-related services, ensuring timely and high-quality work.

Emergency and Ad-hoc Coordination

  1. Coordinate annual and ad-hoc inspections by local authorities (e.g., Bomba, MBSA, Health Department, Customs).
  2. Respond to emergency situations promptly to mitigate safety and operational risks.

Administrative Support and Documentation

  1. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory, and facilities usage.
  2. Prepare reports, schedule maintenance activities, and provide administrative support to the maintenance team.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering or Related Field
  • Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Industrial Engineering are the most common fields of study.
  • Certificate in Industrial Maintenance
  • Electrical or Mechanical Technician Certifications
  • HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Technician Certification

Additional Information

  • Proven experience in maintenance or facilities management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with strong organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to coordinate between teams and external vendors.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond to emergencies efficiently.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively.
  • Availability to be on standby during weekends, as required.
