Head of Data Quality
- Full-time
Company Description
About Us
Our mission is to create a world in which every parent sleeps well at night knowing they are doing everything they can to set their children up for a healthy and happy life.
This is not the current reality for many parents who have children with special needs. These parents face significant challenges…
- Finding care: It is the wild west to find care, with most turning to unsophisticated solutions such as blogs and Facebook group and nothing exists that tells families who is good, in-network, and available.
- Fighting for care: Between insurance denials and schools holding back services, parents are often on the phone for hours every week fighting for the care their child needs.
- Paying for care: Parents often pay thousands of dollars out-of-pocket or forgo care altogether because of the costs and most don’t realize there are government programs and nonprofit grants that will often cover expenses.
These issues lead parents of children with special needs to be 24% more likely to develop depression than their peers, and 50% have to reduce or quit their jobs to manage everything. We can do so much better, and that’s why we created Beaming Health
We are starting with a focus on parents of children with autism because we want to start by doing one thing really well, and autism is already a massive, growing, and underserved segment of the special needs population. We hope you will join us to transform the experience for these families.
Our Culture
- We are a mission-oriented company. Don't just come to Beaming to work, come if you want to leave your mark on the world.
- We enjoy each other’s company and think it's important to make work as fun as possible. That being said, we also work really hard and expect to be the best in our field.
- We are actively seeking to work with people who are not like us. To build a great team, we want people with many different backgrounds and experiences.
Job Description
We are looking for a Head of Data Quality to join our team as one of our first hires. In this role, you will ultimately be responsible for the accuracy of our resource directory and the pace at which we expand our services across the country.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Information included in resource directory is >95% accurate.
- Validate and vet the 50K autism resources across the United States by October 2022.
- Contribute to an overall Net Promoter Score of 90+.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 3 full-time data validation contractors and a $75K budget to validate and vet the information of every autism resource across the country.
- Develop a process to re-validate every existing resource every 90 days.
- Develop process to collect waiting list information on a bi-weekly basis for relevant service providers (diagnostic evaluations, ABA therapists, speech therapists).
- Perform weekly audits on accuracy of data.
- Determine what it means to be Beaming-Verified and then maintain a list of Beaming-Verified providers.
- Actively contribute to a positive team culture. As one of our first hires, you are incredibly important for setting the kind of culture we want to develop.
Reporting structure:
- You will report directly to the CEO, Chris.
Qualifications
You will thrive in the role of Head of Data Quality if you have:
- A desire to fundamentally change the lives of parents of children with autism.
- A strong attention to detail and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and do work that isn’t always the flashiest. You are the final eyes on everything that goes into the resource directory. This might mean you do manual checking yourself to make sure a website URL is up-to-date or that a clinic is still in business. You will mostly be delegating this work to your team of contract workers, but as the person ultimately responsible for making sure it is accurate, you will surely be double-checking some of the work yourself, and no work can be beneath you.
- Ability to deal well with ambiguity. You will have the freedom to get your work done in whatever way you see most fit, meaning you will create a lot of processes from scratch. This can be energizing for some and overwhelming for others.
- Flexibility. We are small, scrappy, and constantly evolving. Priorities can change and we need someone who can roll with the punches.
- Skilled at delegating and leading a team. You will be interfacing with a team of 3 contract workers on a daily basis. Your job is to keep them busy, working on the right things, remove roadblocks, and give them feedback by checking their work on how they can make sure we hit the 95% accuracy targets.
- The drive to be part of building something new - to work hard, to be your best self and to adapt to the constant change and evolution of a start-up.
