Job Description
Bantrel is currently seeking a qualified Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Field Engineer - Night Shift (Industrial Projects) to join our mining team, based out of Leroy, SK. The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Field Specialist NS will be responsible for performing field inspections and participating in construction walk‑downs. The Specialist will focus on ensuring that all relevant aspects of the construction meet the electrical and instrumentation design intent. The E&I Field Specialist - NS will address electrical, and instrumentation technical queries and non‑conformance reports related to the design. They will primarily work within the Integrated Construction Centre (ICC) platforms to raise technical queries, non‑conformance reports, and other notices as required.
Hatch and Bantrel have formed the Hatch Bantrel Joint Venture (HBJV) to execute engineering and construction on the BHP Jansen Potash Mine Project in Saskatchewan. After successfully completing the Definition Phase Study for the project, the HBJV is currently carrying out the Detailed Engineering Phase for the Processing, Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) and Mining Areas of the 4.5 Mtpa Stage 1 Potash Mine. With a published TIC of US $5.3-5.7 Billion this will represent one of the largest projects and private investments in Canada. The HBJV will use a hybrid of best-in-class new developing technologies and systems as well as the proven HBJV suite of tools to execute this exciting project.

Please note, this position is not eligible for a relocation subsidy or living out allowance. This will be a camp position on a 14 day on / 7 days off rotation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform E&I inspections and sign off on inspection and test records to ensure quality and compliance.
- Lead field verification of installed quantities, progress tracking, and reporting accuracy.
- Utilize digital tools (ICC platforms) to streamline queries, reporting, and workflow efficiency.
- Conduct walkdowns, manage punch lists, and support turnover to ensure successful handover.
- Partner with contractors and field supervision to plan work, resolve issues, and maintain schedule alignment.
- Coordinate with engineering on constructability, design issues, and testing requirements for E&I systems.
Technical/Role-Specific Competencies:
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and results.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies and tools.
- Solid understanding of industry standards and engineering practices within multi-discipline, data-centric environments.
- Working knowledge of full project lifecycles, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls.
- Strong communicator, able to collaborate effectively with teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and hands-on trade experience (e.g., Red Seal).
- Professional Certification: P.Eng. (Saskatchewan) is an asset, not required.
- Experience: 5–10 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering or construction.
- Quality Expertise: Strong understanding of quality management systems, including ISO standards and auditing practices on large capital projects.
- Communication: Clear, concise, and professional communicator across all levels.
- Leadership: Provides direction, mentorship, and technical guidance to drive results.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identifies issues and delivers practical, lasting solutions.
- Collaboration: Builds strong cross-functional relationships to embed safety and quality.
- Decision Making: Makes timely, data-driven decisions with a strong risk awareness.
- Adaptability: Thrives in dynamic environments and responds effectively to change.
