We are currently seeking qualified Labourers to join our on-site Construction team, for a 2 to 3 month project, based out of a remote camp location near Fort MacKay, Alberta. This position offers the opportunity to participate in construction on the Imperial Oil (IOL) Kearl Lake Sodium Citrate Injection Process System. The shift is planned to be 21 days on and 7 days off rotation, 10-hour days. While the preference is to hire candidates who resides locally, fly-in, fly-out from Edmonton, Alberta or Calgary, Alberta will be available based on eligibility.

Hourly rate: $26.73/hr. to $33.66/hr.

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
  • Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas
  • Support tradespersons such as carpenters, pipefitters, electricians and equipment operators in construction activities
  • Support heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment
  • Support in tool crib, storage seacan organization
  • Provide worksite housekeeping support throughout the construction phase
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an industrial setting required
  • Knowledge and experience with industrial construction an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate with all levels of a project organization

As part of the recruitment process, successful clearance of applicable pre-employment checks is required which may include Criminal Background/Police Information check, Drug & Alcohol test, Reference checks as well as submittal of Provincial Driver’s Abstract. In addition, standard HSE certifications may be required including WHMIS, Fall Arrest, First Aid etc.
