Job Description

BwB is seeking an experienced, Director-level candidate to play a leading role in the Climate City Capital Hub’s engagement with European municipalities across the NetZeroCIties Programme. The Capital Hub is an innovative initiative aimed at facilitating both public and private finance for sustainable urban development, to advance Europe’s transition to climate neutrality. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in financial services and transaction execution, with strong stakeholder engagement skills, coupled with a deep commitment to, and knowledge of, sustainable Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture high-level relationships with key stakeholders across predominately public sector across countries committed to the NetZeroCities Programme.
  • Lead the direct day-to-day operations of the investment Hub, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and optimal resource utilisation.
  • Represent the Capital Hub at key forums, conferences, and media engagements to articulate the Capital Hub's vision and impact to further build out the profile of the Capital Hub.
  • Evaluate performance against key performance indicators and strategic goals.
  • Report on progress and challenges, providing insights and strategies to the Advisory Board and other key stakeholders within the governance model of Capital Hub.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of leadership experience within financial services and transaction execution, or a related field, with a proven track record in managing large-scale initiatives.
  • Demonstrate expertise in sustainable finance.
  • Extensive knowledge of economic, regulatory, and political landscapes across the EU/UK.
  • Experience coordinating effectively across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Exceptional leadership skills.
  • Strategic and critical thinking being able to demonstrate analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of finance and investment strategies.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with stakeholders at all levels across a variety of industries within both the public and private sector.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and drive outcomes.
  • Highly adaptable, capable of navigating complex and evolving scenarios.
  • Proactive and innovative problem-solving approach to tackle challenges.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English (at least C1 level) is required, with a further two or more additional EU official languages (at least C1 level) highly advantageous.

Additional information

This is a fully remote role with regular travel commitments. The successful candidate is expected to be located in close proximity to a metropolitan area with the means of being able to travel frequently and, at times, upon short notice.
