What will you do as a Senior Architect?

Senior Solutions Architects at AVIV Group have a strong software engineering background and are deeply impacting various business and technology decisions spanning multiple projects and locations. They are passionate and pragmatic technologists who design, implement and deliver scalable and resilient systems. They are collaborative role models and approachable leaders within a larger group. They are humble teachers, technically mentoring teams of dedicated engineers while delivering uniquely challenging projects.

Furthermore you will:

  • Contribute at a global level. We work on integration for the overall global AVIV Group platform. Our systems support millions of users all over Europe.
  • Lead scale & reliability. Building platforms at scale requires constant investment in scalability and reliability.
  • Innovate. Growth brings new complexity and new challenges every day.
  • Translate business or tech problem(s) into one or more efficient technology solutions and plan on bringing these to life while working across several teams.
  • Set the pragmatic technology vision across multiple teams, allowing engineers to deliver efficiently and with high quality.
  • Collaborate with others, from versatile team members within diverse groups, through technologists in other functions, to responsible leaders across AVIV Group. Build strong relationships with people in the organization.
  • Provide technical leadership and vision in designing, implementing, testing, and rolling out the next generations of our systems.
  • Up the bar on sustainable engineering by improving methodologies, producing best in class of code, documentation, testing, and monitoring.
  • Be a humble mentor and trusted advisor for our team members and passionate leaders. Deal with different opinions maturely and fairly, helping teams commit and move forward.

Qualifications

Qualifications
 

  • Relevant full-time software engineering experience (we need people with a strong engineering background that can still be hands-on if needed).
  • A track record of building large-scale, highly-available systems that solve complex, organizational-level business problems.
  • Expert and hands-on understanding of large-scale distributed systems and cloud architectures.
  • Advanced, inside-out knowledge of multiple programming languages, data storage systems, and message queues.
  • Passion for driving continual improvement initiatives on engineering best practices like coding, testing, or monitoring.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing detailed technical documents.
  • Passionate about helping teams grow by inspiring and mentoring engineers.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc.).
