Job Description

As the Manager Commercial Finance and FP&A at IDS, you will play a pivotal role in providing analytical support to financial processes, drive value to the business and manage risks.

The Manager will partner with the commercial and senior leadership at IDS to ensure objectives are met. The Manager supports and drives the strategic, annual operating plan and forecast processes along with ad-hoc business projects tied to value modeling (client facing financial models) and margin analysis.

This is a role for a high potential with direct exposure to sales and senior leadership at IDS; Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning & Budgeting: Coordinates sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes to ensure high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency. Manages SG&A budget setting and forecasting and also ownership of overall P&L / FCF / EVA.

  • Profitability and Margin Management: Owns the analysis of Gross Margin and Operating Margin across all product lines and customer segments. Provides insights and tools and partners with leadership to drive improvement in profitability, focusing particularly on the complex tail of the business.

  • Sales Compensation and Incentive Design: Works with HR and commercial leaders to design, model, and manage the financial impact of sales incentive plans (commissions, bonuses). Ensures compensation structures are fiscally responsible, motivational, and directly aligned with the company's financial goals (e.g., rewarding profitable deals over high-volume, low-margin sales).

  • Reporting & Technology: Monitors the accuracy and distribution of sales reports and assists in implementing and utilizing enabling technologies, including Power BI and/or Oracle OAC. Additional responsible for reporting overall P&L / FCF / EVA results and bridging vs prior periods and forecasts.

  • Compliance: Ensures compliance with internal policies and controls in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).

Qualifications

A Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a medium to large size manufacturing company preferably from the Fortune 500. Experience in a dynamic, multinational finance environment with proven ability to work with professionals of different cultural backgrounds, professions and levels.

Education:

Bachelor degree with MBA (preferably) /  (CPA/CMA a plus)

  • Excellent knowledge of Google Workspace incl Google sheets/slides (MS Office Excel) and BI analytical tools

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $107,625 - $143,500/ year.

The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting.
