Who You'll Work With
Arista Networks is the pioneer and industry leader in software-driven Cloud Networking and programmable switching solutions for modern Data Center, Campus, AI, and Cloud networks.
We are seeking a highly experienced Team Leader, Network Systems Engineering to lead and grow our Systems Engineering organization in China. This individual will act as both a senior technical leader and people manager, driving technical strategy, mentoring engineers, and partnering closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Services teams to support strategic customer engagements across the region.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in networking and cloud infrastructure with strong leadership, customer-facing, and team development capabilities.
What You'll Do?
Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Lead architecture and solution design discussions for strategic customer engagements, including executive presentations, whiteboarding sessions, and deep-dive technical workshops.
Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders on AI networking, data center, campus, cloud, and network automation solutions.
Drive technical strategy and solution positioning for key enterprise, cloud, and service provider opportunities.
Support complex escalations and guide technical decision-making across the Systems Engineering team.
Team Leadership & Enablement
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Systems Engineering team across China.
Foster a collaborative, customer-focused, and technically innovative culture within the organization.
Coach engineers on technical depth, consultative selling, presentation skills, and customer engagement best practices.
Conduct regular enablement sessions on Arista technologies, competitive positioning, AI networking, automation, and emerging industry trends.
Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and retaining top Systems Engineering talent.
Pre-Sales & Solution Engineering
Partner closely with Sales leadership to translate customer business and technical requirements into scalable, high-value architectures.
Drive technical presentations, product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts (POCs), workshops, and RFP/RFQ responses.
Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams to advocate for customer requirements and regional market needs.
Develop reusable technical assets including solution guides, demo environments, technical playbooks, and competitive positioning materials.
Market & Competitive Insight
Maintain deep knowledge of industry trends, AI infrastructure evolution, cloud networking, security, automation, and competitive landscapes.
Provide strategic insights to cross-functional teams to support roadmap planning and market differentiation.
Help position Arista as a technology leader within the China market.
Thought Leadership
Represent Arista Networks at industry conferences, customer forums, technical seminars, and partner events.
Contribute to technical thought leadership through presentations, blogs, white papers, and best practice documentation.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
10+ years of experience in networking, systems engineering, solution architecture, or related technical customer-facing roles.
Prior experience leading or mentoring Systems Engineering teams 5+ years preferred.
Deep expertise in data center networking, routing, switching, overlays (VXLAN/EVPN), AI networking, cloud networking, and network architecture design.
Strong experience supporting pre-sales engagements including technical discovery, architecture design, proof-of-concepts, and RFP/RFQ responses.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and executive-level audiences.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Services organizations.
Strong customer engagement and consultative problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
Advanced industry certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, ACE-5/6/7, or equivalent.
Experience with network automation and orchestration tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies.
Familiarity with telemetry, observability, network analytics, and automation platforms.
Experience supporting AI infrastructure, hyperscale cloud, or large-scale enterprise data center environments.
Native Mandarin and business English communication skills are strongly preferred.
