Job Description
Role Summary and Purpose
As the Collibra Platform Developer, you will be responsible for the configuration, development, and optimization of the data governance platform. This role focuses on building and embedding Collibra as a core business platform, enabling data ownership, stewardship, and governance processes to operate on a scale. You will work across business and technology teams to translate governance requirements into practical, usable platform capabilities. Collibra delivers measurable outcomes in data quality, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Platform Configuration & Development
- Configure and maintain the Collibra platform, including:
- Asset types, domains, communities, and relationships
- Governance structures aligned to enterprise data models
- Develop scalable configurations that support long-term platform growth
- Ensure solutions follow best practice design and are maintainable
Operating Model Implementation
- Embed the enterprise data governance operating model into Collibra, including:
- Data Domain Owners, Business Data Stewards, and Technical Stewards
- Accountability, ownership, and approval processes
- Ensure governance processes are operationally executable, not just documented
- Align platform configuration with evolving governance frameworks
Process Enablement & Automation
- Translate governance and data management processes into platform capabilities
- Enable automation of key processes such as:
- Data concept lifecycle management
- Ownership and stewardship assignment o Data sharing and approval processes
- Continuously improve usability and efficiency of governance processes
Integration & Data Ecosystem
- Integrate Collibra with enterprise systems and data platforms:
- Data warehouses, ingestion pipelines, and BI tools
- Configure APIs, Collibra Connect, or Edge for metadata ingestion and synchronization
- Support lineage, reporting inventory, and metadata visibility across the estate
Delivery & Continuous Improvement
- Deliver platform enhancements through Agile sprints
- Contribute to:
- Backlog refinement and prioritization
- Release management and deployment
- Establish and follow development standards, including code and configuration quality
Role Requirements & Skills
- Collibra Platform Expertise – Strong hands-on capability configuring metamodel, domains, relationships, and operating model
- Process Translation – Ability to convert business governance requirements into practical platform solutions
- Workflow & Automation – Experience implementing automated governance processes within Collibra
- Integration & APIs – Practical experience integrating Collibra with data platforms via APIs / Connect / Edge
- Stakeholder Engagement – Ability to work across business and technology teams and challenge requirements where needed
- Platform Thinking – Treating Collibra as a product (scalable, reusable, adoption-focused), not a one-off implementation
- Delivery Discipline – Comfortable working in Agile environments with backlog-driven delivery
- Commercial Awareness – Focus on driving adoption and extracting measurable value from the platform
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Data, Engineering, or similar)
- Collibra certification (e.g. Ranger or Solution Architect) is desirable
Additional Information
Experience:
- 2 to 6+ years working with Collibra or similar data governance platforms
- Proven hands-on experience configuring:
- Collibra metamodel (assets, relationships, domains)
- Governance processes and operating model within the platform
- Experience integrating Collibra with enterprise data platforms and metadata sources
- Experience working with Data Governance, Data Stewards, or Data Product teams
