Occupational Therapy Graduate

Your Role as an OT Grad

As an Occupational Therapy Graduate at Early Start Australia, you'll help children build independence, confidence, and everyday life skills through engaging, evidence-based therapy.

You will:

  • Help children achieve developmental milestones, including fine motor skills, handwriting, hand-eye coordination, self-care, and school readiness skills.
  • Support children to develop independence with everyday activities such as dressing, feeding, toileting, bathing, and personal care.
  • Educate and empower parents, carers, teachers, and support networks to continue skill development beyond therapy sessions.
  • Help children develop emotional regulation and positive behavioural strategies across home, school, and community environments.
  • Create meaningful therapy plans tailored to each child's goals and individual strengths.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care and positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Celebrate every achievement, from small daily wins to major developmental milestones.

You Will Also Have:

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Eligibility for AHPRA registration upon graduation
  • Recently graduated or graduating in early 2027
  • A current driver's licence and access to a vehicle with third-party insurance
  • A Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration, or willingness to obtain
  • A current Police Check, or willingness to obtain
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or willingness to obtain
  • First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
  • Strong communication, organisation, and time management skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and families
