Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.  In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.

The Coal Processing Technician: Mechanical is responsible for ensuring all activities undertaken are performed in line with safety and statutory requirements. Reporting directly to a CHPP Team Leader, the Coal Processing Technician will be responsible for the operation of the CHPP, ROM/RAW feed systems, and train load-out during their shift. Moreover, they possess the expertise to troubleshoot and manage any breakdowns that may occur, always prioritizing the safety of CMW’s over production.

• Mechanical trade or equivalent trade qualifications are essential.
• Experience in a CHPP, coal processing plant, fixed plant or heavy industrial environment.
• Demonstrated experience contributing to a team of professionals to deliver against set targets.
