Job Description

Our Revenue Management Team provides our chief officers and senior executives with deep analysis of market conditions, demand forecasts, the competitive landscape, and other complex data analysis, strategies and recommendations. The people on this team are highly visible to our leaders as they present business critical analysis, and are known for the superior quality of their work.

Because revenue management analysts are exposed to many areas of the company, careers paths are varied according to the needs of the company and personal interests. Successful analysts are highly sought after internally, and many find themselves in new roles in as little as one year. A typical career path within revenue management may be:

Yield Analyst

  • Analyze changes in market conditions such as capacity, competition, schedules, and fares to develop, implement and track appropriate inventory allocation strategies
  • Analyze, monitor, and adjust demand forecasts by flight, cabin and class
  • Identify seasonal demand fluctuation, including holidays and special events. Adjust and monitor the demand forecast, communicating results

Pricing Analyst

  • Review competitors' fare changes and implement changes based on strategies 
  • Develop and effectively communicate market/pricing strategies to leaders and teammates 
  • Work collaboratively with inventory analysts
  • Monitor and analyze market data in order to achieve/exceed goals

Revenue Analyst

  • Leads major analytical projects that are produced and shared with all levels of the Company, including Senior Management
  • Works cross functionally to provide data analysis to measure the initiative success
  • Participate in cross-divisional projects
  • Deep analysis of financial performance to understand revenue variances and trends
  • Create revenue forecasts, both on a monthly and annual basis 


Qualifications

Successful revenue management analysts will have: 

  • A strong educational foundation in statistical and economic analysis, applied mathematics, industrial engineering, or a related degree with relevant experience in airline revenue management
  • The ability to work in a highly matrixed, collaborative team environment
  • Strong facility with data analysis tools such as Excel, Access, SPSS, Business Objects, Brio, Tableau, TOAD or SQL
  • Professional polish and presentation skills
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • A commitment to embodying the "Alaska Spirit," conducting oneself with Safety, Integrity, Professionalism, Resourcefulness, and Caring
