Job Description
Position Overview:
The Interface & Stakeholder Coordination Manager shall report to the Project Director / Project Head and serve as the PMC lead for interface management, stakeholder engagement, approvals management and external coordination across the airport development project.
The role shall be responsible for establishing and implementing project-wide interface and stakeholder management frameworks, ensuring seamless coordination among the Employer, Airport Operator, Regulatory Authorities, Utility Agencies, Government Departments, Airlines, Security Agencies, Consultants, Contractors and other stakeholders. The position shall proactively manage project interfaces, facilitate timely decisions and approvals, resolve cross-functional issues, mitigate stakeholder-related risks and support smooth delivery of design, construction, testing, commissioning and operational readiness activities.
The Interface & Stakeholder Coordination Manager shall act as the central coordination point for all internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that interface issues do not adversely impact project schedule, cost, quality, operational continuity or overall project delivery objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Interface Management
- Develop, implement and maintain the Project Interface Management Plan and Interface Register.
- Identify, monitor and manage internal and external interfaces across design, construction, operations, testing, commissioning and handover phases.
- Ensure effective coordination between terminal, airside, landside, utility and operational packages.
- Proactively identify interface conflicts, dependencies and implementation risks and facilitate timely resolution.
- Monitor interface closure status and ensure accountability across all project stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management & Coordination
- Act as the primary coordination point between the Employer, Airport Operator, Consultants, Contractors and external agencies.
- Develop and maintain the Stakeholder Engagement Plan and Stakeholder Register.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, coordination reviews and decision-making forums.
- Track stakeholder commitments, approvals, action items and key deliverables through closure.
- Develop strong working relationships with all project stakeholders to support timely delivery.
- Regulatory Approvals & External Agency Coordination
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities, statutory agencies, utility providers and government departments for approvals, permits and clearances.
- Manage interfaces with DGCA, AAI, BCAS, CISF, Airlines, Fire Authorities, Environmental Authorities and other regulatory bodies, as applicable.
- Facilitate resolution of approval-related issues and expedite decision-making processes.
- Monitor status of approvals and identify risks that may impact project delivery.
Risk Management & Issue Resolution
- Identify stakeholder, interface and approval-related risks and develop mitigation measures.
- Resolve cross-functional coordination issues and escalate critical matters to Project Leadership.
- Facilitate collaborative resolution of technical, operational and commercial interface matters.
- Support implementation of mitigation and recovery measures to avoid project delays and disruptions.
- Operational Readiness & Project Delivery Support
- Support testing, commissioning, operational readiness and phased handover activities.
- Coordinate operational interfaces between ongoing airport activities and project implementation works.
- Ensure stakeholder requirements are incorporated into project planning and execution.
- Facilitate coordination necessary for seamless integration of completed facilities into airport operations.
Governance, Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain interface registers, stakeholder logs, approvals trackers, issue registers and action trackers.
- Develop stakeholder dashboards, interface reports and executive management updates.
- Establish communication protocols and reporting frameworks across project participants.
- Support governance reviews, steering committee meetings and executive presentations.
- Ensure transparency, accountability and effective information flow across all stakeholders.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Architecture/Construction Management/Project Management or related discipline.
- Master's Degree in Management/Infrastructure Management or Project Management preferred.
- Overall 15-20 years of professional experience in project management, stakeholder management, approvals management or interface coordination.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in aviation projects involving airport terminal buildings, airside works, landside infrastructure, utilities and airport support facilities.
- Proven experience in managing complex multi-stakeholder environments involving airport operators, regulatory authorities, consultants, contractors, government agencies and utility providers.
- Experience in PMC, EPC, Design-Build or Client-side project management environments.
- Strong understanding of airport development processes, statutory approvals, utility coordination and operational interface requirements.
- Experience in at least one Greenfield or Brownfield airport project of minimum 10 MPPA capacity involving terminal, airside or major airport infrastructure works preferred.

- Proficiency in digital coordination systems, dashboards, stakeholder tracking tools and project management platforms.
- Excellent communication, presentation, relationship management and facilitation skills.
- Strong governance, organizational and multidisciplinary coordination capabilities.
- Experience in data-driven monitoring, issue tracking and performance reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing stakeholder priorities, resolve complex coordination challenges and support successful project delivery within programme, budget, quality, safety and operational constraints.
