What you will do:
- Plan and deliver field surveys in Spain and abroad to identify, monitor, and quantify biodiversity (habitats, fauna, and vegetation).
- Support the preparation of biodiversity deliverables: writing, literature reviews, data analysis, and inputs to business development activities.
- Draft biodiversity sections for Environmental Impact Assessments and environmental integration appendices.
- Advise clients on biodiversity risks, opportunities, and disclosure, and present assessment results to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to innovative services and tools, including environmental DNA (eDNA), Nature-based Solutions, and biodiversity crediting approaches.
- Prepare applied biodiversity management reports (e.g., species conservation plans, habitat restoration plans) and conduct ecosystem services valuation.
- Design mitigation hierarchy measures, including actions targeting a net positive impact on biodiversity.
Why join our biodiversity team:
- Work on cutting-edge, multidisciplinary nature projects that drive measurable outcomes for biodiversity.
- Collaborate with passionate environmental consultants in a supportive, growth-oriented team.
- Develop your technical and consulting skills through diverse assignments and knowledge-sharing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences or Biology (specialization in biodiversity).
- 3+ years of relevant experience in biodiversity/ecology; consulting experience is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Iberian biodiversity, particularly habitats and fauna (birds, mammals, others).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
- Commitment to quality, ethical practice, teamwork, and continuous learning.
- Familiarity with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Primary focus in Spain with potential for international fieldwork and collaboration.
- Field assignments may require periodic travel and flexible schedules aligned to survey windows.
- Ensure the necessary functional capacity for performing the duties specific to the position (this will be assessed at the beginning of employment through a medical examination).
- Driver's license (B).
Highly valued:
- Experience with camera trapping, bioacoustics, and ultrasonic detectors.
- Hands-on experience with biodiversity metrics and positive impact accounting.
- Experience applying eDNA methods and working with Nature-based Solutions and/or biodiversity credit mechanisms.
- Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools to support ecological assessments.
