Job Description
Here is what you will do:
- Provide engineering guidance, calculations, and technical analyses to support project delivery.
- Develop engineering studies and recommendations for technical documentation, ensuring compliance with project requirements, standards, and criteria established by the Supervisor, Project Manager, or Discipline Lead.
- Coordinate own work with discipline team members and cross-functional teams involved in the same project.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks in line with project schedules and quality expectations.
- Prepare, review, and deliver technical reports and specification aligned with assigned responsibilities.
- Proactively report project status and progress to the Discipline Lead/Project Manager.
- Ensure the quality, completeness, and integrity of all assigned engineering deliverables while maintaining professional and ethical standards.
- Utilize input data from Lead Engineers and Discipline Supervisors to develop work scopes, execution plans, and schedules aligned with project objectives and budgets.
- Prepare, review, and verify conceptual designs and project specifications.
- Apply relevant codes, standards, and regulations in all engineering calculations and activities.
- Assist in interpreting and applying applicable standards and codes within the discipline.
- Comply with company safety programs and workplace/site safety policies.
- Support alignment of client and company objectives throughout project execution.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation and discipline-specific engineering deliverables.
- Review and validate vendor documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Participate in the development and verification of process flow diagrams and engineering schemes in collaboration with the Process discipline.
- Develop and review plot plans and equipment layouts in coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
- Support the preparation of discipline-specific scopes of work.
- Prepare and verify material requisitions for procurement activities.
- Participate in design reviews to assess constructability and project feasibility.
- Support bid preparation and technical evaluation processes.
- Review drawings and datasheets related to supports, expansion joints, and spring supports.
- Estimate engineering effort and define development timelines for project execution.
- Collaborate with Project Controls to prepare progress reports and monitor schedules.
- Communicate progress, risks, delays, and mitigation/recovery plans to project leadership.
- Evaluate, update, and ensure compliance with applicable project procedures.
Qualifications
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Degree in Engineering (BSc or MSc in Hydromechanics, Civil, Mechanical, or equivalent Engineering field).
- Have experience (7 - 9 years minimum) in engineering design teams for major water/wastewater engineering infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with Europe Water Industry practices.
- Designing and creating assembly drawings, PFD, P&ID, including Bill of Materials for WWTP or Drinking WTP.
- Technical analysis for equipment selection.
- Detailed pipe, hydraulic calculation and equipment sizing, and general plant design.
- Demonstrable track record in the delivery of large water/wastewater projects such as wastewater treatment plants or large pipelines.
- Knowledge of current design management processes.
- Understanding of BIM and its application in the water industry
- Effective in building good working relationships within complex structures both within projects, with clients, and internally.
- The successful candidate will also be able to mobilize people and teams and drive for a successful delivery.
- Making Decisions and Solving Problems — Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- In-depth experience in water and wastewater network modeling.
- Previous experience in the development of water and wastewater master plans.
- Experience in 3D modeling systems using REVIT will be an advantage
- Basic knowledge of pipe supports design.
- Experience with European and/or American Standards and Codes will be an advantage.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
- Ability to interface with other disciplines.
- Problem-solving skills and finding the most suitable solutions for our clients.
- Concern for the improvement of professional training.
- Responsibility, conscientiousness, rigor in carrying out tasks, and self-motivated.
- Cooperation with other colleagues, teamwork.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
