The Role

Types of projects: Retail & Logistics

As Project Manager, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, on budget, and in line with client quality and operational requirements. You will be activating in an environment with international exposure, working closely with the Construction Manager, client teams, designers, and contractors, you will provide leadership and clear communication to keep projects progressing smoothly.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and coordinate the delivery of a partially automated logistics Warehouse project in Nijmegen.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and reporting.
  • Work closely with the Construction Manager to plan, sequence, and monitor site activities.
  • Maintain open communication with international client teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead project meetings, including design reviews, cost reviews, start-up briefings, progress meetings, and closeouts.
  • Ensure all works meet required safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Manage contractor performance against scope, cost, schedule, and HSSE expectations.
  • Identify and manage risks with appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Promote and uphold AECOM’s HSSE and ethical standards across all sites.

You’ll Also Be Involved In

  • Reviewing design and cost information to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Supporting tender and procurement processes as needed.
  • Monitoring progress across active work sites and reporting to client and internal leadership.
  • Coordinating with the wider delivery team to align design, construction, and operational requirements.
  • Driving efficiency, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across projects.

Job Description

• Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies. 
• Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface. 
• Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors. 
• Responsible for administering the project from the pre-construction budgeting/schedule stage through procurement, shop drawing/coordination development, construction, space turnover and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction project.

Qualifications

  • Engineering or construction-related degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in project or program management.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
  • Driver's license B.
  • Strong understanding of HSSE leadership and compliance.
  • Proven experience managing multi-site or fast-track projects.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word).
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel frequently across the Benelux region.
  • VCA certification (or willingness to obtain).

Nice to Have

  • Experience in retail or logistics.
  • Experience delivering retail, fit-out, or refurbishment programs.
  • Background in managing brand rollout or standardized design implementation.
  • Understanding of live-site working environments and operational coordination.
