Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Transportation Leader to support and lead exciting transportation infrastructure projects in St. Louis, Missouri. This role will play a key leadership position in expanding AECOM’s Surface Transportation presence throughout Missouri and the greater Midwest region. The ideal candidate will bring strong relationships with transportation clients, proven experience delivering complex highway and bridge projects, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in pursuit and execution of major infrastructure programs.

This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful transportation initiatives for state and local agencies while helping drive strategic growth, mentoring staff, and shaping the future of transportation infrastructure in Missouri.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continue to strengthen and expand client relationships within Missouri’s Surface Transportation market, specifically with public sector transportation agencies and municipal clients.
  • Support the growth of AECOM’s transportation business with a focus on highway, bridge, and infrastructure design projects throughout Missouri and surrounding states.
  • Develop and maintain exceptional customer relationships with agencies such as the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), the City of St. Louis, St. Louis County, East-West Gateway Council of Governments, and local municipalities.
  • Lead project pursuits, proposal development, interviews, and presentations for large and complex transportation infrastructure opportunities.
  • Coordinate with regional and national transportation leadership teams to position AECOM for strategic growth initiatives.
  • Identify, pursue, and win transportation and infrastructure design projects for highway, bridge, roadway, and multimodal programs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and ambassador for AECOM through participation in industry organizations, conferences, and client-sponsored events.
  • Develop marketing strategies, identify market trends, and align AECOM capabilities with client transportation priorities and funding opportunities.
  • Drive project performance and oversee the successful delivery of a portfolio of transportation projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure technical excellence, quality delivery, and client satisfaction.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior engineering and project management staff.
  • Coordinate with operations leadership to achieve strategic growth goals and strengthen AECOM’s transportation presence in Missouri.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 10 Years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related discipline and 10+ years of related transportation engineering and project management experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • 20+ years of experience in the Transportation Industry with a focus on highway, bridge, and infrastructure design.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Missouri or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
  • Established relationships with Missouri transportation clients including Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), the City of St. Louis, St. Louis County, East-West Gateway Council of Governments, and local municipalities.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary transportation design teams and complex project delivery programs.
  • Proven business development and client management experience with public sector transportation agencies.
  • Ability to act independently on technical and strategic transportation matters while driving project and client success.
