Job Description

Senior Quantity Surveyor
Full time, Permanent
Ivybridge

Working within the planned commercial team, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the day to day management of commercial requirements within the business.

More about the role:

  • Accurate monthly CVRs with attention to detail
  • Early identification of margin erosion - via forcasting
  • Timing early warnings and compensation events
  • Managing risk with the delivery team
  • Ensuring our claims are complete and to maximise where possible
  • Final account/takeover account submissions compiled and issued at earliest point to avoid build up of WIP (cost with no value)
  • Ensuring subcontract orders are signed before works start on site
  • Timely and accurate client applications
  • Chasing late payment certificates
  • Chasing aged debtors and prioritising cash flow at all times
  • Understanding the NEC4 / relevant contract clauses and expectations across the variety of clientele
  • Ensuring all trackers are up to date with the correct information
  • Raising / closing sage codes where required to reduce admin burden on accounts teams
  • Notifying QS of approvals, queries or discrepancies
  • issuing POs and filing invoices onto server folders
  • Attending governance meetings to ensure tenders are robust for delivery
  • Any ad-hoc tasks required

 

Qualifications

About you:

  • NEC 3 and 4 experience
  • Transferrable industries - Utilities, Civils or Water
  • Experience being involved in negotiations
  • At least 5 years experience in this position
  • Ability to work on multiple projects within various stages
