The Front Office intern is expected to learn and gain experience from colleagues and participate in development opportunities; this includes job shadowing and constantly assisting when required.

The intern will assist and contribute to the team and department, by performing clerical and ad hoc duties. The intern may also be required to assist other departments in order to gain distinct experience and aid the organisation.

General Responsibilities

• Perform clerical duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor
• Constantly grasp the training given
• Respond to guest requests
• Handle all equipment, tools and machinery with care and respect
• Respond promptly to all service requests.
• Report any accident, or damages to equipment immediately
• Processing data entry

Customer Specific Responsibilities

• Ensure guest satisfaction by performing such duties as attending to their requests and inquiries courteously and efficiently
• If spoken to acknowledge guests using the appropriate levels of discretion and the correct forms of address
• Report or hand in any property belonging to the guest left lying open in the room
• Ensures that areas where jobs are undertaken are left properly clean and ready for use
• Always display a polite and gracious manner

Knowledge and Experience

• Tertiary qualification is hospitality or tourism
• Fair user of Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to effectively communicate with others in English and other official languages
• Dedicated to achieving high standards by working with others
• Demonstrates exceptional levels of integrity
• Ability to work effectively and safely when under pressure and when placed with demands
