Job Description

Rixos Al Mairid is seeking a skilled and reliable Technician, Employee Accommodation to ensure that all technical systems and equipment within the staff accommodation are functioning efficiently and safely. The Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work across various disciplines including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a comfortable and safe living environment for all employees. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Maintenance Tasks: Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, and general fixtures within the staff accommodation areas. 

• Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of rooms, common areas, and equipment to identify and resolve maintenance issues in a timely manner. 

• Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to employee comfort and safety. 

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of maintenance tasks, repair work, and equipment servicing for tracking and reporting purposes. 

• Inventory Management: Monitor and manage the inventory of tools, spare parts, and materials. Report shortages and assist in requisitions. 

• Compliance: Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety standards and building regulations. 

• Collaboration: Work closely with the Supervisor, Employee Accommodation and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and support facility improvements. 

• Reporting: Notify the Supervisor of any major maintenance issues or safety concerns that require further attention or external service providers. 

• Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment in all maintenance areas. Properly handle and store tools and materials. 

• Team Support: Provide technical assistance during staff moves, accommodation upgrades, and special projects involving facility improvements. 

Qualifications

Sustainability: Commit to and maintain sustainable practices by enhancing resource efficiency, minimizing waste, and promoting eco-friendly, social, and ethical initiatives. Align with the hotel's broader ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) objectives to drive positive impact across all pillars of sustainability. 

Compliance and Standards: Ensure full compliance with local legal requirements, international standards, health and safety regulations, company policies, ISO standards, and industry best practices. Continuously review and update operational processes to ensure alignment with evolving legal and regulatory requirements. 

Food Safety & Hygiene: Ensure full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations by overseeing proper purchasing, storage, handling, maintenance, communication, and preparation practices across all departments. 

Skills: 

• High School diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC is a plus. 

• Previous experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in residential or hospitality settings. 

• Working knowledge of basic repairs, tools, and safety practices. 

• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail. 

• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize work assignments. 

• Good communication skills and a service-oriented mindset. 

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) or maintenance logging systems is an advantage. 

• Physical ability to lift, carry, and perform manual tasks as required. 

• High level of reliability, integrity, and responsibility in work performance.
